The Circuit
The Cape31 Med Circuit was built around the idea that the best sailing venues on earth should also be the best Cape31 racing. Porto Cervo, Bonifacio, Scarlino, Hyères and Saint-Tropez — venues that any offshore racer would put on their bucket list. The circuit runs spring to autumn, five events, and is directed by Tor Tomlinson-Cheney through thirtyoneracecircuit.com. Sailing Energy is the class media partner for the circuit.
The Competition
21 boats from across Europe and beyond — UK teams shipping across for the winter season, Med-based fleets that have been building for years. The 2025 Europeans confirmed what everyone already knew: this is the hardest one-design fleet in the Mediterranean. Stig, Black Seal, Flying Jenny, Pacific Yankee, Trinity Racing — boats and crews capable of beating the best in any class.
The Results
At the 2025 Loro Piana Giraglia — Saint-Tropez inshore series — Cape31s won IRC 1, lining up every TP52 in the fleet on corrected time. “The Cape 31 bad boys won the inshore races.” — Giornale della Vela. At the 2025 Europeans, Alessandro Rombelli’s Stig took the title on 12 points. The 2026 season opened at Trofeo Princesa Sofía with Trinity Racing taking the win.
