The Med Circuit

The 2026 Cape31 Mediterranean Circuit is the biggest in the class’s history. 21 international teams across five events, racing at venues that define sailing — Porto Cervo, Puntaldia, Bonifacio, Scarlino, and culminating at the Gold Cup in Saint-Tropez in October.

Sailing Energy is the official media partner for the 2026 circuit, bringing professional video production to every event. The class is on television, in the sailing press, and on social media at scale.

The Med circuit is where the Cape31 made its name internationally. The combination of reliable Mediterranean breeze, world-class venues and a fiercely competitive fleet has produced some of the finest one-design racing in Europe. Stig won the 2025 title by a single point from Pacific Yankee — that margin defines what this circuit is.

New teams are welcome. The circuit spans April to October and the boat is easy to ship from anywhere in Europe. Contact Tor Tomlinson-Cheney to discuss entry for 2026.

Where We Race

Med Circuit Venues

Five of the finest sailing venues in the Mediterranean. Each venue has been chosen for its reliable breeze, world-class facilities and spectacular backdrop. The Gold Cup at Saint-Tropez is the season finale.

🍺
🇮🇹
Porto Cervo

Yacht Club Costa Smeralda — one of the world’s most prestigious yacht clubs. Porto Cervo offers reliable northerly and southerly sea breeze in the Straits of Bonifacio, with crystal clear Sardinian water and world-class facilities.

🏝
🇫🇷
Bonifacio

The dramatic cliffs of southern Corsica frame some of the most spectacular sailing in the Mediterranean. Bonifacio sits at the strait between Corsica and Sardinia — a natural wind tunnel delivering consistent breeze and technical racing.

🌊
🇮🇹
Scarlino

Scarlino on the Tuscan coast offers classic Mediterranean racing conditions — thermal breezes building through the day, a beautiful natural setting and one of the friendliest yacht club hospitality programmes on the circuit.

🇫🇷
Hyères — French Riviera

The Giens Peninsula near Hyères is famous for reliable Mistral conditions — some of the strongest and most consistent breeze in the Mediterranean. World Sailing has run Olympic events here for decades. The Cape31 loves it.

🇫🇷
Saint-Tropez

The Gold Cup at Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez is the biggest event in the Cape31 calendar. October 12–17, 2026. Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is the backdrop — the Cape31 races alongside Maxis, TP52s and classic yachts at the most glamorous regatta in the world.

🏆 Gold Cup — Oct 12–17 2026
🇪🇺
Palma — Mallorca

Home of the Cape31 European Championship and the Trofeo Princesa Sofía. Palma Bay delivers reliable thermal breeze, excellent water and the Real Club Náutico de Palma — one of Europe’s finest race management teams. A regular circuit venue.
